Classification and Types Of Injuries

Injuries can be classified as follows:

Primary Injury or Direct Injury

One that occurs as a result of a direct action causing immediate pain or wound; sports activity, external blow or fall, or burn.

Secondary Injury or Indirect Injury

One that occurs as a result of a previous untreated injury, over usage of muscles and tendons, or overestimation of one’s body capabilities.


Ones that usually last for at least three months or more and are the result of repetitive wrong or poor techniques and over or extensive use of the same techniques.
